The Evolution of Your Crochet Skills
The best part about the Simple Steps Fingerless Mitts is that it relies on the stitches you already know!
- Familiar Foundation: You’ll use your mastery of Single Crochet (SC), Half Double Crochet (HDC), and Double Crochet (DC) but this time, you’ll combine them in new ways to create these seamed fingerless gloves.
- The Big Next Step: The major new skill we introduce is creating the thumb area. Learning how to shape for an opening is crucial for garment making, and this mitt pattern breaks it down into simple, manageable steps. You’ll feel so accomplished when you finish that first thumb hole! The linked YouTube tutorial takes you through each step so there is no guessing!
- Quick & Cozy: These mitts work up quickly in worsted weight yarn, making them ideal last-minute gifts or perfect for keeping your hands warm during the cooler months.
Ready to jump in and make a pair for yourself, or a few to share with those you love.
