Knit Diamond Canvas Sweater - City Farmhouse Studio

Recently I shared the Machine Knit Version of this pattern, so this is for our hand-knitting friends. I am excited to share the instructions on how to make this lovely project for those who enjoy working with texture and are looking for a satisfying garment to knit.

Project Details & Skill Focus

This pattern maintains the classic aesthetic of the machine-knit version but is fully adapted for needles, creating a perfect blend of simplicity and style.

Unique Stitchwork: The defining feature is the Brioche Stitch panel, which creates the central “canvas” of the design. The pattern provides both written and charted instructions for this stitch.
Accessible Garment Knitting: The sweater is worked flat in pieces and features minimal shaping, making it a wonderful next step for confident beginners moving into garment construction.
Size Inclusive: The pattern includes comprehensive sizing from XS to 5X.
Polished Edges: We use the simple, effective I-Cord Edging technique to create a non-rolling, professional finish on the hem, cuffs, and square neckline. There is a separate YouTube tutorial on I-cords so you won’t have any guesswork on how to do them.
Yarn: Designed for aDK yarn, such as Loops & Thread Luxe Merino.
