Crochet Fireside Sweater

If you have read about my Fireside Cardigan crochet pattern you know how much I have loved wearing it. I also have enjoyed working with the Lion Brand Heartland yarn on it and on the Fireside Infinity Scarf. So, of course, the next logical step for me would be to make a sweater out of the same yarn and herringbone stitch.

Another aspect of the Lion Brand Heartland yarn (and no, I am not sponsored by them) that I like is the wide color selection. Seriously, if all yarn lines would have this many options it would be the crafter’s dream. There are so many colors, and even several shades of them. Looking for something different than what I used on the cardigan and scarf was quite difficult because there were just too many I was wanting!

Crochet Fireside Infinity Scarf

Since finishing The Fireside Cardigan I have been wearing it all the time. It is so warm and comfortable to be just cozy around the house, but it is also nice enough to dress up and wear out and about. Since it was so cozy I decided to make an infinity scarf to go with it.

Combining the herringbone stitch pattern and the edge motifs form the cardigan I have created a textured scarf that is just as cozy as the cardigan. It also looks great combined with The Fireside Cardigan.

Crochet Fireside Cardigan Pattern

For the previous years I have been wearing my Weekend Cardigan during the winter as my go to everyday outer layer. This year I wanted another cardigan that will be warm and cozy just like it, but out of acrylic so when my daughters lay against me they don’t complain about the wool scratching them. So, the Fireside Cadigan pattern started.

Using two separate stitch patterns this cardigan works up really fast. The contrast between the herringbone stitch of the body to the motifs with a puff for the edging creates an attractive design that is easier to get than you think. The category 4 Lion Brand Heartland yarn creates the fabric quickly, and the stitch structures create a fluffy fabric that is cozy and warm.
