Needle

Crochet Hook:   G for ZZ Twist and Jeans Yarn; H for Baby Soft Yarn

Stitch Gauge: 4” x 4” = 20 sc x 24 rows

Stitch Guide: Sc2tog = single crochet 2 together.  Insert hook into first st.  Pull up loop.  Insert hook into next stitch.  Pull up loop.  Yarn over and draw that loop through all 3 loops on hook.  This creates one stitch decrease.

Sun Dress: 

Ch53.

Rnd 1:  Sc in first ch to form loop.  Sc in each ch following.  Place a stitch marker in last made stitch.  (53)

Rnd 2:  Sc in 1st st of previous row and in each following st in a spiraling manner until there are 11 additional rows above the stitch marker.

Rnd 3:  Sc2tog, 15sc, sc2tog, 16sc, sc2tog 16sc. (50)

Rnd 4:  11sc, sc2tog, 23sc, sc2tog, 12sc. (48)

Make front panel of dress

Row 1-4:  Ch1 turn.  16sc

Row 5:  Ch1 turn.  Skip 1st sc.  15sc.

Row 6:  Ch1 turn.  Skip 1st sc.  14sc.

Row 7:  Ch1 turn.  14sc.

Row 8:  Ch10.   Place stitch marker in loop to prevent stitches from dropping.  Loop will be picked up in Row 11 when making back panel.  Cut yarn leaving enough tail for one more sc, binding off, and weaving in the tail.

Make back panel of dress

Row 1:  Return to Row 1 of the front panel where you did your first ch1.  Count over 6 unworked sts moving away from the 16sc that were created to form the front panel.  With a slip knot on hook sc in the 7th unworked st and in the following 15 sts for a total of 16sc.  This creates the back panel of the dress.

Row 2-6:  Ch1 turn.  16sc.

Row 7:  Ch1 turn.  Skip 1st sc.  15sc.

Row 8:  Ch1 turn.  Skip 1st sc.  14sc.

Row 9:  Ch1 turn.  14sc.

Row 10:  Ch 10.  Sc in top corner of front panel of dress on matching side to create a shoulder strap.  Bind off.

Row 11:  Pick up loop being held from Row 8 of front panel.  Sc in back panel on matching side to create second strap.

Bind off.

Make bottom lace on lower edge of dress (optional with color 2)

Rnd 1:  53sc in beginning starting chain.  Sl st in 1st st of row.

Rnd 2:  Ch3 turn.  1sc in first sc of previous row.  *Ch3, sk 2 sts, 1sc (large arc created), ch 3, 1sc in same st (small arc created).*  Repeat to end.  Ch3 and sl st in 1st ch of row.

Rnd 3-6:  Ch3 and turn.  1sc in big arc to create a small arc. *Ch3, sk small arc, 1sc in next big arc, ch3, sc in same arc.*  Repeat to end.  Ch 3, and sl st in 1st ch of row to create large arc.

Neckline detail (optional with color 2)

Sc in corner of neckline. *Sk 1 st.  4dc in next st.  Sk 1 st, 1sc.*  Repeat till one stitch remains.  1sc in that last remaining stitch.  14dc around ch.  Sc in 1st st corner of dress.  * Sk 1 st.  4dc in next st.  Sk 1 st, 1sc.*  Repeat once till one stitch remains.  1sc in last remaining st.  14dc around ch.  Sl st in 1st sc made.

Bind off.

Pants

1/8” elastic cord sewn or tied in a knot to form a 7” diameter circle.

Rnd 1:  47sc around cord.   Place stitch marker in last stitch.

Hdc in first sc.  46hdc in each sc of previous row.  Continue with a hdc in each stitch till there are 9 rows of hdc directly above stitch marker.  Starting count with the last stitch made, place a stitch markers in the 25th and 26th stitch away from hook.

Make Inseam

Rnd 1-3:  Ch1 turn.  3hdc.

Rnd 4:  Make 1 sc in the stitch next to the stitch marker to create the first leg opening.

Be sure you are inserting hook from the right side of fabric towards the inside.  20hdc around.  3hdc evenly in the inside leg section.

Make leg

Rnd 1:  Starting in first hdc of previous row, 23hdc around.

Rnd 2-4:  21hdc, sc2tog.

Note: For pants continue on.  For shorts 1sc, 1sl st and bind off.

Continue hdc in each st in spiraling pattern for an additional 9 rows directly below stitch marker.  This will create a total 10 rows of hdc for the body.  From the last st made count back and put a stitch marker in the 12th and 13th st from hook.

Make inseam

Row 1-3:  Ch1 turn.  3hdc.

Row 4:  Make 1sc in the space next to stitch marker in previous section (reference first image in pants pattern).   Be sure you are inserting hook hook from the right side of the fabric.  This creates the first leg opening.  20hdc around remaining sts, and 3 hdc evenly along inner seam panel.

Make leg

Rnd 1:  Starting in first hdc of previous row, 23hdc around.

Rnd 2-4:  21hdc, sc2tog.

Note: For pants continue on.  For shorts 1sc, 1sl st and bind off.

Rnd 5-7:  20hdc.

Rnd 8:  20hdc, sc2tog.

Rnd 9:  19hdc.

Rnd 10:  18hdc, sc2tog.

Rnd 11:  17hdc, sc2tog.

Make 2nd leg

With a slip knot on hook sc in the next open st by the stitch markers in the main body (reference second image in pants pattern).  3hdc in side of the crotch area.  20hdc with the last being in the same st as the first sc of the row.

Repeat above leg section Rnd 1-4 for shorts, and Rnd 1-14 for pants.

Bind off.

Make sleeves:  (optional with color 1)

Seam up arm side openings through the last decrease that was made.

Rnd 1:  21hdc evenly around.

Rnd 2-3:  21hdc.

Rnd 4:  19hdc, sc2tog.

Rnd 5:  (optional color 2) 20hdc.

Rnd 6:  *Ch3, sk1st, sc.* Repeat for 9 arcs.  Ch3, sk1st, sl st in 1st ch of ch3 of row.

Bind off.  Repeat for other sleeve.

Neckline detail (optional with color 2)

Row 1:  Starting in lowest corner on one side of v neck, 47hdc evenly around ending on the lowest edge of opposite side of v neck.

Row 2:  Ch3 turn.  Skip first 2 sts of previous row, sc in the back loop (or loop that is on the inner most edge of garment near bobbles) of the following st.  *Ch3, sk 1 st, sc in back loop.*  Continue to end.

Ch24.

Row 1:  Hdc in 2nd ch from hook.  Hdc in each ch to end.  (23)

Row 2:  Ch1 and turn.  Sk 2 st, in the sc of the previous row (2dc, ch1, 2dc).  *Sk 2 sts and sc in ch space of next shell like motif.  Sk 2 sts (2dc, ch1, 2dc).*   Continue repeating ending with (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in the last sc from previous row.  Sl st in beg chain (optional with yarn color 2).

Row 3:  Ch2, turn and dc in same space as sl st.   *Sk 2 sts and sc in ch space of next shell like motif.  Sk 2 sts (2dc, ch1, 2dc).*   Repeat to end with a sc in the top of the ch space of the last shell like motif of previous row.  Sk 2 sts, 2dc, ch1, (optional with yarn color 1) sl st in top of beginning ch.

Repeat Row 2 and 3 once for a shirt.  For a dress continue to repeat pattern Row 2 and 3 each 2 more times.  In last row sl st in top of ch space of the last shell like motif of previous row instead of a sc.

Make sleeves  (optional with color 1)

Bind off.  Repeat for other sleeve.

Neckline detail (optional in color 2)

Starting in lowest corner on one side of v neck, 55sc evenly around ending on the lowest edge of opposite side of v neck.  Bind off.  Sew a snap on the top edge of neck to secure.

Optional waist detail (optional with color 2)

Create a slip knot on hook and a long extra tail then remove from hook.  Insert hook through fabric 1 row below “V” of  v neck.  Pull up loop from slip knot through fabric, and evenly sl st around body through holes by pulling yarn up from the inside of the fabric.  Sl st in the last st before beginning stitch.  Bind off leaving a long tail.  Tie bow with tails.

Small Shoes (1 ¼” foot length)

Ch5.

Rnd 1:  Starting in 2nd from hook 3sc. 3sc in last ch. 2sc in unworked side of chain. 2sc in end.

Rnd 2:  Sc in first sc of previous row. 10sc

Repeat Rnd 2 twice.

Row 1:  Make 1sc.  Ch1 turn.  7sc.

Row 2:  Ch1 turn.  7sc.

Repeat Row 2 once.

Row 3:  Ch1 turn.  1sc, sc2tog, 1sc, sc2tog, 1sc
